U.S. Department of State International Visitor Leadership Conference

Hello I'm Ani, an internationally published, architecturally trained practicing Principal Interior Designer, and welcome to my blog! Women face many challenges being in business and we were recently visited by some extraordinary female Latin American official Delegates exploring diverse business topics.  As a Latina (Mexican-American) entrepreneur I was honored to be ask to speak on a panel alongside some of the most inspiring women entrepreneurial leaders in San Diego and still feeling the aftereffect of the special opportunity!

The panel was officially organized by the U.S. Department of State for 12 International Delegates who are also Latin American women business owners!  While at a conference room at Hera Hub with the female franchise founder, Felena Hanson, we answered many questions about women in entrepreneurship and some cultural differences, similarities, and challenges that women entrepreneurs face globally.  It was quite a unique cultural experience, we even had 4 professional translators too (which you will hear in the background of the video). So check it out, watch the video below, and please share any insights or thoughts! Thank you for watching!

Creative Reframe Mindset Distinction

Hi I'm Ani, a Southern California based interior designer and thank you for stopping by my bliss blog! :) It's been a humbling experience to have been trained through the rigor of architecture graduate school and environmental psychology from many distinguished schools such as Harvard University, Graduate School of Design.
The reason I'm sharing this, is that in order to survive through very competitive environments, like the trenches of entrepreneurialism and "architorture" school, as us architecture grad students would call it, I had to develop some mindset, self-discipline, and reframe tools along the way to keep moving forward while feeling inspired and also going strong in my creativity. I learned that I have a gift and passion for uplifting and inspiring people. I didn't come from a privileged family, I grew up feeling disempowered with dyslexia, and I'm first generation. My parents immigrated from other countries (Trinidad and Mexico), I'm the first to attend college and follow my passion in art and design while venturing into graduate school! Because stress kills creativity, I had to figure out some stuff on my own. I sought out mentorship in order to create a creative career through my unique eclectic passions.

If you know me personally, you also know I'm very passionate, like to uplift, empower, and share important insights which helped me over the years, specifically on what I like to call a "creative reframe"!  I've gained some pretty amazing mentorship and business coaching over the past 10 years and I now feel privileged to be able to share this wealth of knowledge with you so you can also create a career by what inspires you! When we are inspired, we are happier people and that positive energy spreads! Because you are reading this, I know you are also up to big things, so I acknowledge you for taking the time to read my blog and watch this video!
In this short video, I share an important distinction I highly value as an entrepreneur and designer on how to creatively reframe from dangerous disempowering thoughts, on what we could potentially call mistakes or failures, and transform these limiting beliefs into a more empowering and inspiring perspective!  Love to hear your comments or thoughts!  Thanks for watching! -Ani

Photo: Did you know one of the worlds largest sustainable urban design communities is in Las Vegas?! This is the Vdara Hotel lounge which is part of the sustainable community, and a gold Leed certified building with no casinos, no smoking, no clubs, no high end store fronts, no craziness, just beautiful & sustainable design everywhere with a relaxing vibe. I was just in Vegas for a design conference and we stayed here. Some say it's the best Hotel getaway on the strip & city center and I would agree.

Powerful design with sustainability in mind like this continuously inspires and influences quality of life.
